Interview Update, Bad Drawings, and a Pinterest Win

I’ll try to write my meal plans tomorrow but today’s post is going to a collection of randomness!  Hooray for randomness!

Today was a long day.  I found myself at 6:00 at night shopping for ingredients for a dish for a potluck tomorrow saying out loud “I hate being an adult”  The end of the day was very frustrating but most of the day was pretty good.

My interview went meh :/  I think I did okay but I know I didn’t do great so part of my morning was spent sitting in my office going over all the things I could have said differently.  However, I’m not the person to beat myself up over it.  The good news is I’m applying for jobs while I still have a job so that makes things a little bit easier.  I should know in about a week, if I get it, great, if not, I’ll do better next time.

image1Today I was a little silly with my board in the beginning of the day.  I was very convinced I could draw Yoda and the more I look at this it wasn’t the worst drawing ever, perhaps a little work on the bottom to make it look more like a robe instead of ET’s body might have made the difference…or not XD  My day kind of went downhill after I erased Yoda.

I consistently have to remind myself that I’m not responsible for the actions of other people.  I just get frustrated when I believe in someone more than they believe in themselves or when I genuinely try to help and they give up.  It’s challenging to want someone to see their potential for change but to realize they don’t want to see it; however, I’m not going to give up and lose my belief in people’s capacity to change their behavior.  Although I didn’t feel like it at 5:15 tonight I do still love my job.

Onto the next topic….I mentioned before I was shopping for ingredients for a potluck dish.  It’s a Halloween themed potluck and I wanted something cute but not too complicated…you guys know how I feel about complicated recipes (not good).  Thankfully a Pinterest search revealed this Mummy Veggie Dip and when I saw it I knew it was something I could execute. This is a picture of the inspiration.

I didn’t follow the recipe included (because I never do), just used cream cheese, green onions, spinach, and red peppers.  I couldn’t find piping tips so I just used a ziploc bag and it was a little challenging but I eventually got it to work.

IMG_0271It’s definitely not an exact replica but I’m going to put it in the category of Pinterest wins, rather than Pinterest fails.  I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty proud of it 😀  Well, today has been a crazy long day.  Left work late, shopping for ingredients, didn’t get home until almost 6:30 then by the time this little project was complete it was about 8:00, writing a post, and finishing up this episode of Project Runway leads me right into bed time…..Good Night!

A persons biggest hurdle in life is themselves..

So true….and I hate recipes. I use them more like guidelines rather than something to be strictly followed 😛

As soon as a recipe requires more than 5 or 6 ingredients, I don’t feel like trying it anymore. Too much effort? 😀

Thanks 🙂 I surprised myself with how it turned out, figured I would end up either bringing in just a bowl or dip or running to the store this morning to pick something up

Thanks…I was kind of selfish and picked veggies I like so hopefully everyone else likes them too 🙂
