My First Hike-Palouse Falls

A couple pics from this hike popped up in my Facebook news feed this morning and made me feel sentimental. It reminded me how far I’ve come and how much I’ve accomplished over the last year.
This was my first hike. It became the first of many. I struggled in the beginning.  I was tired and sore but the more hikes I did the more I fell in love with just being outside. I fell in love with exploring and found strength in what I could accomplish. The great thing about reflecting back on this memory is it’s making me look forward to all the exploring and adventures I’ll be enjoying in the future! 🙂 Happy Sunday! Transitions in my Life

I was sore yesterday morning, my upper thighs aching from the squats and lunges of my previous day’s workout so I came close to talking myself out of going for the hike I’d been planning all week.  Love it or hate it this was a time when Facebook saved me from myself as I went online and posted “I almost had myself talked into sleeping late and doing nothing today but I’m going on an adventure!”

There it was, a public declaration to my circle of friends and family telling them I was doing something exciting today so now I didn’t want to disappoint by chickening out posting “Adventure cancelled”  Nope, that wasn’t going to happen.

I packed a lunch, grabbedIMG_6248 extra batteries for the camera then swung by the local outdoors store for pepper spray and a first aid kit.

I filled up the car with gas and headed…
