Meal Plan Monday

I wasn’t sure when I moved and started working if meal plans would continue to work for me.  After a couple weeks I can say without a doubt I need to keep it up.  I flounder a bit on the weekends but I think that’s to be expected so I’m only doing dinners on the weekends.  It just makes more sense for me.

Highlight of last week was the pizza with the cauliflower crust.  I wish I’d taken pictures!  It was really good and like regular pizza sometimes it was even better cold the next day because it was cold it held together better.  It was very yummy!

I spent $30 on groceries yesterday picking up lots of veggies, lunch meat, flour tortillas, eggs, a big pack of chicken breasts, and lots of fruit.  I like having fruit to eat in the morning before work plus it’s perfect for workday munchies.  I can’t afford to eat out all the time and most of the food people eat when they eat out is not good for you so I brown bag it or clear plastic container it would be more accurate.

I see how easy it is to want to just grab something on the way home or run out and pick up food at lunch.  I’m tempted every single day on the way home.  One of the upsides and downsides of a bigger city is more food choices.  I drive past tons of restaurants and it’s so tempting to swing through a drive thru or grab some take out but I force myself to drive past and eat at home.

Meal plans help keep me on track and eating real food.  I’m getting better at prepping my lunches the night before working toward a goal of laying out all my lunches at the beginning of the week.

Speaking of which I need to make lunch for tomorrow so I can head to bed early.  Hope everyone has a great week! 😀

Monday
Dinner:  Fajitas

Tuesday
Lunch:  Chicken and cream cheese wrap plus apple slices
Dinner:  Pasta with leftover hamburger and peppers

Wednesday
Lunch:  Chicken and broccoli
Dinner:  Rice with chicken and veggies

Thursday
Lunch:  Soup
Dinner:  Spaghetti

Friday
Lunch:  Leftovers
Dinner:  Chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries

Saturday
Dinner: Mystery meal, could be going out

Sunday
Dinner:  At the soccer game!! 🙂

    I love meal planning, and I find that people who do have some really inventive ideas (which I steal and pretend to my partner I came up with ;))

      I steal ideas from people all the time….it’s great to find some delicious, healthy meal options out there that are easy 🙂

        It is really good, and I love the fact you can find different things to do with something like mince rather than just spag bowl

    Eating out once a month or once every 2 weeks should be doable but.. not every day.. And I’m glad I have a place to get food where it’s all healthy and fresh without additives.. Imagine never eating out every again. 😛

      I ate out last week and will eat out this weekend so every once and again is doable but definitely not every day.
      I’m sure there’s some healthy options out there just need to find where they’re at, definitely more challenging for you but at least there’s more awareness in society so it’s becoming a bit easier to find healthy and fresh food

        I did! A work colleague asked me to go to lunch with her and I forgot to bring lunch so I went but ate somewhat healthy so I didn’t feel too bad…
